Bar 1788
You don't need to be attending an event at The Pie Hall to pop into Bar 1788, and you don't need to be a member either. Our bar is open to everyone, including families, four-legged friends and those who've worked up a thirst exploring the footpaths around Denby Dale. Muddy boots welcome!
The bar serves a selection of real ales, beers, wines, spirits and soft drinks, with plenty of space to sit and catch up with friends.
There's an 86-inch television with surround sound for live sporting events, as well as a pool table, darts board, board games, jigsaws and books if you fancy something a little quieter.
And, of course, there's plenty of pie history to discover. The bar houses a collection of memorabilia celebrating Denby Dale's famous giant pies, including the Guinness World Record certificate for the enormous meat pie made in 1988.
Bar 1788 at The Pie Hall is also dog-friendly, with fresh water and treats available for visiting dogs.
OPENING TIMES
Our regular opening hours are:
Thursday: 10am–2pm and 5pm–10pm
Friday: 1pm–close
Bar 1788 also opens at other times throughout the week, depending on events and activities taking place at the Pie Hall.
As our opening hours can vary, we publish an updated timetable every Monday morning on our Facebook and Instagram pages.
It's always worth checking before making a special trip!
Note: due to licensing, we can only serve alcohol after 11am.

Planning a birthday celebration, christening, wake or other private gathering? Bar 1788 at Denby Dale Pie Hall is available to hire from Sunday to Thursday, with prices starting at £35 per hour.
The hire price includes a member of staff to run the bar throughout your event.
Please note that birthday parties at Bar 1788 are for over 18s only.
Children's birthday parties can be held in our main hall.
